Runnels County, TX lies on the West Texas plains near Brownwood and its estimated population (2019 data) stood at 10,271 making it one of least populated counties in this region overall. Its county seat is Ballinger but other towns include Rowena & Winters giving us a perfect mixture of rural farmland & small communities that much more enjoyable to everyone living here or visiting for business or pleasure alike. Runnels County had been created out of Coleman & Tom Green Counties back in 1889 – posthumously named after Hiram George Runnels who served as former governor during Reconstruction period a few years prior.
