Red River County, TX borders Oklahoma along its northern edge near Louisiana state line giving us a 2020 census population estimate standing at 12,514 making it one of least populated counties located hereabouts. Its county seat is Clarksville but other cities include Annona & Bogata whilst Clarksville equates out to Red River’s biggest town aside from aforementioned county seat. This area had been created out of Miller & Lamar Counties back in 1836 when local residents petitioned for new administrative boundaries – it was posthumously named after ‘Red River’ river thanks to Spanish explorer René-Robert Cavelier de La Salle who explored this region late 17th century onwards.
