Unsophisticated and selfish, vanilla people
It was so refreshing for me to read the prior comments about the people in Denver. I moved here in 1981 and have been here for 26 years trying to make it work. I am from the Northeast originally. It will never work for me here. As the other person said, people are superficially nice (sometimes) but there is little substance or loyalty. People will stand you up if something more interesting comes along for them to do. They are quite slow in pretty much every way. Obviously there are exceptions but VERY few! Many people acclamate and stay. I tried and tried but remain very dissatisfied and unhappy here. There are a number of Easterners who move here and are unhappy so they move within two years. Because of the climate and beauty here I've tried to make it work. Moved at 25 and am now 51, female, intelligent, attractive, worked for 15 years as a professional matchmaker and have never been able to match myself here! I'm moving back East when my house sells! Also very difficult to make friends and midwesterners are suspect of anyone who is too friendly. They are quite unsophisticated. They hate New Yorkers, Texans and Californians here...even though often they've never even visited those cities.
